OMG!! A couple of months ago, I simply could not have guessed how much PUBLIC FUN I would be having at this time!! And of course, by that I mean places where you can just come in, sit down, and a show is going on. Involving me, my favorite kind of show, of course. Let me give you some of the juicy details--

Wednesday nights, Bistro Calais on Bammel Lane. Who could have known that this would become such an over-the-top crazy fun gig? The best part is that you NEVER KNOW who will stop by-- two weeks ago my old buddy Sally Mayes was in from New York-- yes, THAT Sal-- "Montgomery, Mayes, & Strtich" Sal-- Tony nominated Sal-- and of course I prevailed upon her to sit in for a couple of tunes, even a duet we used to perform that I couldn't believe we remembered. Then last week we had the four oh-so-handsome guys from Masquerade Theater's upcoming production of Forever Plaid, singing those INCREDIBLE old Hi-Lo's arrangements-- unbelievable. Aaaaand-- the amazing Debbie Boily graced us with a couple of tunes, AAAAAAND the ever-effervescent Bubba McNeely absolutely killed with a gospel tune to make us all wish we sinned a little more often, just to get right again like that!!! This is becoming a favorite thing of mine-- a venue where you never know who's dropping by, but you're pretty sure they're fabulous. It's really just a big party, with fantastic food & wine. So if you have missed out so far, get busy, babies. We're having fun without you!!

Now, for those of you who miss the honest-to-goodness sit-down-and-shut-up-this-is-a-show aspect, you are SOOOO in luck! Because Charlene and I will be back at OVATIONS on Friday July 25 with-- you won't believe it-- a whole new show! And I must confess that I am absolutely in love with the new tunes I am learning. I've got everything from Broadway to blues to country AND western to JAZZ (oh, I know....) and it's all too, too great. A new Etta, as always promised-- some Delbert thrown in for fun...... I'm serious, you ought to try to be around for this one. Even I am excited about it.

Then I go back to Wyoming at the end of July for a few days, to sing in the Grand Teton Music Festival (that's what I SAY, of course we all know it's just another excuse to look for a cute cowboy or two) and after I get back, I have another surprise. Starting mid-August, I'll be singing every Monday night at TRULUCK"S with the VERY jazzy attorney Ken Ward (the swinging-est barrister I know) from 5:30 to 9:30. And that's great, because the bar menu is HALF PRICE there until 7 pm, so drink and eat for a SONG during happy hour!! What can I say? Life is good.
